General
WHAT ARE THE DATES OF CLINIC ‘24?
Clinic ‘24 will take place from the evening of 17 October until 20 October 2024.
HOW WILL I TRAVEL TO THE CLINIC ‘24 TOURNAMENT LOCATION?
Clinic ‘24 will be hosted at Roseburn Park in Edinburgh West End. It is a 10 minute walk from the Murrayfield Stadium tram stop, and a 5 minute walk from bus lines 900, 902, 909, 12, 26, 31, N18, X18, N26, and 100.
We recommend looking up Transport for Edinburgh for further information on public transport around the city.
Gender Participation Statement
We completely and unequivocally welcome players of any gender and all experience levels to Clinic ‘24. Rugby is for all and the Caledonian Thebans will always promote this wherever and whenever possible. We support trans players playing rugby as their authentic selves and continue to vocally oppose policies which do not live up to the inclusive values of our club and the wider IGR community.
Despite strong opposition, the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) continue to impose trans exclusive guidelines upon rugby in Scotland through their SRU Gender Participation Policy. As a result, trans women and AMAB non-binary individuals are unable to play in contact rugby matches with cis women.
For trans men and AFAB non-binary individuals, eligibility to play with cis men is dependent on where an individual may be in the process of medical transition. SRU guidelines state that trans men and AFAB non-binary individuals are permitted to play rugby with cis women only if their assigned sex at birth was female AND ‘hormone treatment has not commenced’.
The full SRU Gender Participation Policy can be found here. Please read this carefully and make sure you understand fully before purchasing your Clinic ‘24 ticket(s).
WHAT ACCESSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE?
Clinic 2024 is an outdoor, full contact rugby tournament, and as a result accessibility provisions are determined by this often challenging and changeable environment.
There will be one large, covered marquee with a wide, wheelchair-accessible entrance. There will be seating provision in the marquee. Venue and weather constraints mean we are unfortunately unable to provide a hearing loop.
The marquee will be constructed on grass; this grass and other high-traffic areas will be covered with temporary carpet/matting to aid accessibility but the condition of this ground cover will be dependent on weather and other external factors beyond our control.
There will not be pitch-side seating provided for spectators, and the ground condition of pitch-side spectator areas cannot be guaranteed.
There will be at least one wheelchair-accessible portaloo, access to which will be via temporary carpet/matting laid over grass. The condition of this ground cover will be dependent on weather and other external factors beyond our control.
The marquee and pitchside spectator areas are likely to be very loud and busy, with music playing throughout the weekend. A quiet space will be available upon request; please make contact with a welfare representative or a member of the clinic sub-committee as required.
Please contact the Ballie Ballerson Edinburgh, La Belle Angele, and The Three Sisters for their respective up-to-date accessibility information.
The above information acts only as a guideline and may be subject to change.
CODE OF CONDUCT

WHAT HAPPENS IF CLINIC ‘24 IS CANCElLED?
We hope there will be no circumstances that will cause Clinic ‘24 to be cancelled. However in the unlikely circumstance that Clinic would need to be cancelled, it is the intention of the Caledonian Thebans Clinic ‘24 sub-committee to return, on a pro-rata basis, as many of the unused funds as possible.
Furthermore, a significant number of contracts and agreements with service providers and venues will have been executed on a non-refundable deposit. As the date of Clinic ‘24 gets closer, most of the contracts require payments to be made in advance of the tournament date.
The Caledonian Thebans Clinic ‘24 sub-committee will be unable to refund any costs incurred on private travel, hospitality, or accommodation that an individual or a club commits to.
We hope this situation will not occur and we will do everything in our power to avoid such an outcome.
