OUR HISTORY

Since formation in 2002, the Caledonian Thebans have proven that sport is a true equaliser. We have grown from strength to strength, and continue to work for full equality in sport.

On and off the field we have worked, and continue to work, to prove that sexual orientation, gender identity, background, and social prejudice have no bearing on a person's sporting ability. Through the commitment of our club, allies, and supporters we have won international competitions. We are proud to have the support of our government and national sporting bodies.

In July 2022, we celebrated our 20th anniversary in Edinburgh, and we came together to celebrate our shared history with old and new faces. We look forward to celebrating the next 20 in the years to come.

The Caledonian Thebans Hydra team was established in July 2023 and has since grown to encompass fourteen capped players. We are thrilled to be welcoming even more womens+ players from our 2024 Bootcamp for the upcoming season.

Caledonian Thebans Midas is the latest team to be formed for the club, playing competitive Touch Rugby and debuting at the Hadrian’s Cup 2025.
